In order to create a safe and inclusive event space for our attendees, we are implementing the following health and safety guidelines at PyBeach 2025.
MASKING POLICY TBD. Complimentary masks will be available to all attendees at registration and during the event. All event organizers will commit to wearing face masks in the venue during the event (except when speaking publicly or consuming food or drink).
We encourage attendees to stay up to date with vaccinations as they are available. However, we have no means of explicit verification and enforcement of vaccination status.
We encourage attendees to use COVID-19 rapid antigen tests before they arrive, and while at the event. COVID-19 rapid antigen tests will be available on-site for attendees while supplies last. We cannot, however, commit to verifying negative test results for attendees.
We expect attendees to respect each others' personal boundaries if they request additional physical distance. Failure to respect others and their boundaries may result in a Code of Conduct Violation.
We are working closely with the venue to provide as much ventilation as possible in the main theatre space. We also commit to having portable air purifiers running in the venue during the event.
Hand sanitizer will be available at key locations throughout the venue.
Local health guidelines regarding capacity limits and social distancing (wherever possible) will be followed.
While no outdoor area for eating is attached to the event proper, the venue is located in an area with a great climate and where nearly all nearby restaurants and cafes have outdoor seating.
If you are feeling sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, influenza, measles, or other communicable diseases, or test positive for COVID-19, influenza, measles, or other communicable diseases before the start of the conference, or on any day of the conference, please stay home to prevent the spread of disease. In such a case, please contact us at registration@pybeach.org, and we will give you a refund, waiving any cancellation fee.
PyBeach reserves the right to increase the requirements of this policy in response to COVID-19 (or other severe communicable disease) infection, hospitalization, or positive test rates. We may also be required to alter our policy to conform with local, state, or federal mandates.
We promise, however, not to downgrade our Health & Safety policy between now and the event to allow community members to make decisions about attending with confidence, and that this policy will not be weakened between when they buy a ticket or submit a talk and when the conference takes place.
